Don’s Personal Mission Statement

"My goal is to provide my clients with the type of service they can’t find elsewhere. As their trusted advisor, I feel it is my job to serve as an insightful, proactive resource for operations improvement suggestions. In the end, I want each of my clients to feel like I have significantly contributed to their success."

Don joined Lewis, Hooper & Dick, LLC in 1978. As a member and owner, Don is focused on continued growth and profitability for the firm. He maintains personal relationships with Lewis, Hooper & Dick's team, clients and the community. Don serves provides accounting, assurance, and advisory services for his clients. Though he has worked with a variety of clients throughout the years, he primarily focuses his services on commercial cattle feed yards, grain elevators and construction companies.

As the Quality Control Director and Personnel Director, Don is actively involved in all phases of the firm’s daily activities. Don is responsible for oversight of the firm's quality assurance program. In addition, he serves as a leader and mentor for the firm's young professionals.

Prior to joining Lewis, Hooper & Dick, Don worked at F.B. Kubik & Co., CPAs in Wichita, Kansas. As a staff accountant, he assisted with financial statement audits and income tax preparation. Don pursued a career in accounting because of his desire to help individuals increase their personal wealth and ultimate financial success.

The diverse experience Don has gained over the past three decades has equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the individual needs of his clients. He has assisted numerous clients with restructuring their businesses. For instance, Don worked with a company’s attorneys and board of directors to restructure the organization and develop concise business goals. His assistance resulted in the refocus on primary product and service lines. Don also assisted a client by eliminating unprofitable and unrelated activities in their operations.

Don is a respected professional within the regional marketplace. For several years, he has served as a speaker for the Kansas Livestock Association Young Stockman’s Academy. During his presentations, Don provides useful information to professionals in the livestock industry regarding business planning, financial literacy and succession planning.

Don's military experience has impacted who he is today. His service in the U.S. Army taught him discipline, leadership and strength. Don has carried these important values into his personal and professional life.

Don was raised in Colby, Kansas and currently resides in Garden City with his wife. While away from the office he enjoys biking, traveling and reading. In addition, Don takes pleasure in community service activities and short term mission projects.
