The Kansas Municipal Audit and Accounting Guide (KMAAG) is a reference source for specific accounting and disclosure issues related to Kansas governmental units. The guide focuses primarily on financial statements prepared to demonstrate compliance with the cash basis and budget laws as well as Kanas finance-related compliance issues. It is intended to assist independent auditors in conducting audits in the state of Kansas as well as auditors of Kansas’ governmental entities reporting on the regulatory basis. Mandated by K.S.A. 75-1123, the guide is revised annually by the Board of Editors, which includes members of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA) and the Division of Accounts and Reports (DAR).
